White House Impotent in Face of Iran Disregard

The USBC Wire-
At a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran threw accusations while members of the agency led by the US, tried to enforce sanctions. The accusations, occurring during and outside the meetings, highlighted Iran’s disregard of UN mandates. Iran already has four separate sanctions on it in, related to its refusal to shut down a program that can make either nuclear weapons material. Many experts have warned that Iran is fast approaching having enough fissionable material to create a bomb. Iran, in turn accused Israel of complicity in the recent killings of Iranian nuclear scientists, and of not acknowledging that Israel has nuclear weapons

US President Barak Obama made lofty claims during his election campaign of his ability to reduce the nuclear weapons and nuclear danger in the world but during his term the number of nuclear nation states may actually rise. And the nations who have those weapons are becoming increasingly dangerous despite Obama’s campaign promises of engagement that would produce safety. Even more inexplicably, despite having the full support of the UN the Obama administration has repeatedly failed to deal with Iran in firm fashion diplomatically.

Iran has refused IAEA officials the opportunity to inspect its nuclear operations, complaining that it is only interested in creating energy, and that a coalition of the US, Israel and their allies are trying to prevent it from improving its economy. Israeli nuclear chief Shaul Chorev noted the irony of the situation saying that: "Iran may become the first country to acquire nuclear weapons while being member of the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty".
